Abhijit Das

Abhijit Das (born December 23, 1998) is a poet, educator, and editor from Ujan Dudhpur, Tripura. His academic background includes studies at Dudhpur High School and 82-Mile Proper H.S. School, followed by higher education at Gurucharan College, Silchar, and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), where he earned his Master’s degree in English Literature. While he works professionally as a teacher, he is a dedicated proponent of self-education, viewing the acquisition of knowledge as a personal and lifelong pursuit outside of institutional frameworks.

As a published author of two books, Das explores a literary landscape that deliberately shifts away from traditional aesthetics toward the grotesque and the visceral. His work is centered on the raw anatomy of human experience, treating existence as a biological reality of blood, bone, and nerves. This consistent exploration of the physical self has naturally evolved into a poetry movement known as Abhijitism. Through this lens, he utilizes the specific geography of his homeland—including the Manu River, the Jampui Hills, and the indigenous life of the region—to articulate universal truths about the human condition.

Beyond his personal writing, he serves as the editor of Kak Magazine and is a frequent contributor to littlemag.org. These editorial roles allow him to champion independent voices and experimental literature. His poetry and prose continue to challenge conventional perceptions of nature and identity, stripping away romanticized layers to confront the unvarnished instincts that define life. Whether through his books or his editorial projects, Abhijit Das remains a vital voice in the contemporary literary scene of Northeast India.
